Camp Crescent is a 5 day camp held At Babler State Park in Chesterfield, Missouri, during the second week of July. The camp provides fun and education for boys and girls ages 9 to 13 who have sickle cell disease. There is no cost to campers attending Camp Crescent. The camp is supported through the Prince Hall Masonic Family, the state of Missouri via the Missouri State Contract and private donations.
Nursing and medical staff from St. Louis Children’s Hospital, along with specially trained staff and counselors, will be at camp around the clock to care for and interact with campers during this week of outdoor fun. To ensure the best medical care at camp, camp nurses will work with campers’ physicians to coordinate a care plan.
The camp provides an educational focus during the week, particularly with regard to pain and its management.
